Ragin Cajun Piano Bar in Alton

Wife and I stopped in on our trip to the St.Louis area. Went to Alton and were favorably surprised by both the excellent food and service at the Ragin Cajun. We were amused and couldn't resist sitting in the "sky seat" booth made from ex-airline seats complete with windows. I had the Voodoo Burger, my wife had the Bourbon Burger, and we both raved about how good they were. The waitress was particularly helpful in guiding us to interesting sights nearby. I recommend this place highly.

I like that it is an interracial atmosphere and everyone interacts with one another even if they don't know each other. I love that the band and the pianoist interacts with the crowd. I've been there several times over the spand of 5 to 6 years and it's like that each time.

It was my first time here. And, enjoyed it. The food was delicious. Steak cooled exactly like I asked for. Not, to mention it is a piano bar come on down to this joint. A little piece of New Orleans in Alton Illinois!

Depends on the crowd but the food and staff are always sweet

My absolute favorite bar in that area. The dueling pianos, the atmosphere, and of course the apple pie moonshine. Never had an issue with any of the bartenders and the owner is awesome.

Highly recommend the fried pickles, fried crawdad tails, seafood penne. We went on a quiet Thursday night at nine and were seated and waited on right away.

Not a bad place to have a drink. We sat outside, so the music was just at the perfect noise level. Their musicians are fairly talented. Food could have been a bit more authentic from a Cajun perspective.

Nice, simple menu. Ordered a burger, a little over done, but otherwise, good flavor. Attentive service. Fair prices.

They are NOT prepared for large crowds even with a reservation. Poor service. We ordered before another table and didn't get our food for another HOUR. The manager was defensive and said it was our fault, we ordered late...Not the right answer. We got the owners name and number.

My 1st time here was amazing! The food was wonderful. I had the Blackened Chicken Penne pasta. It was so big I needed a to go box. There was a live band here tonight on a Friday. The band took requests and played our songs extraordinarily. I will be back. Oh did I mention the Mardi Gras theme. If actually felt like I was in the French Quarter w/o the added smell.

This venue has a true New Orleans feel. The decor is most inviting. Staff is very friendly and food is incredible! Such a great experience.

Great spot in downtown Alton by the river with dueling pianos and live bands. Been stopping in for years on our rides to Grafton and have to absolutely grab a hurricane, they're straight up delicious. Nice seating outside in the front and fairly dark inside. Took off 1 star for cash only. Wth wants to handle cash right now?!?

I had a great time and dinner out with my wife. The food was excellent, I've been to NOLA and have had real Cajun food and this is certainly on par. The price was very reasonable. The decor is pretty cool, might be a bit dark for some but, it has character. Service was great and the cook even came out to chat with us. Would recommend to all my friends.

Great time. Reasonable prices. Did get load but then again it was a dualing piano bar so yeah. Was empty when I arrived but filled up fast shortly around 8pm

Awesome service. Our bartender was great. We played darts for a couple hours and had timely and excellent service. The drinks were strong and cheap! I would definitely return here!

Loved the food server was amazing and band took every request I asked of them. They also have cheap drinks a grey goose cognac mix I paid 25 dollars a drink at another bar was 8 dollars here!

I always love coming down to Ragin Cajun!! I tried the sauce they serve with their fries. Kind of a Creole sauce and it was VERY GOOD!!!

Just stopped in for drinks and white chocolate bread pudding, both Vety good. Our server was friendly and efficient. Really enjoyed the music!!

This place is awesome, weekends come alive with music, laughter, and great food. Great place for parties reserve the party room upstairs. Fantastic patio outside for dining.

This is a fun place. It's a bit dark. The food is decent. We enjoyed the performers the night we were there.

Bartenders were rude...we're not all kids. Some of us have good money to spend. Figure it out and maybe you will make better tips.

Amazing food, everything here tastes amazing. I got the blackened chicken sandwich and lobster bisque. Always happy and a good time when I come here.
